Levels/Objectives
NoviceAll beginning swimmers enter the program as Novices. The objectives for this group are to learn the basics and to have fun. Swimmers will learn a routine which they perform in competitions and in the May show. Swimmers will need to bring a nose clip, cap, and goggles with them to all of the practices. Nose clips can be purchased through the head coach before or after practice. |
IntermediateOnce swimmers complete the basic skills and pass the basic skill test, they are ready to move on to Intermediates. This competitive group is subdivided into A and B, depending on experience and skill. All swimmers enter Intermediate as Bs, and then move up to A once they pass the B skill test. Routines will be determined based on the swimmer’s level. |
Age GroupOnce swimmers complete the Intermediate A skill test, they move into Age Group. Because this group faces more strenuous competition, commitment becomes a key factor in swimmers working together. Routines at this level will be determined by age, skill level (figure score), and commitment.
